US WWII M1 HELMET LINER IDENTIFIED

A standard liner; on either side of the shell it is insignia-painted: on the right-hand side the medical insignia of the 354th General Hospital, on the opposite side the 2nd Army insignia and to the front the single oak leaf of a Colonel. Some unidentified stampings inside the liner band; otherwise all paint finish is complete. This liner must have been used for ceremonial purposes.
