USA FELT CAMPAIGN HAT

A rare piece of headdress in exceptionally good condition is the model 1895 U.S. campaign hat worn in the Spanish-American War and the late Indian Wars. This example has some moth tracking to the main body but no distinct moth holes. Classic double-stitched edge. Black ribbon around the base of the skull with its cavalry black and gold twisted cord officers' lace. The hat has the punch hole air holes on either side of the main crown. Original leather sweatband, which has one section missing.
