US WWII GENERAL EISENHOWER AIDE GROUPING

A highly historical grouping of paperwork, insignia and medals belonging to Michael McKeogh and his wife Pearlie Hargrave. McKeogh was General Eisenhower’s enlisted aide and orderly, Michael was by Ike’s side for the entire course of the war and played a pivotal role in history, tasked with everything from waking him up in the morning to making sure that the General’s uniforms were in proper order, anything that could be done to make Ike’s life as stress free as possible so that he could work on important tasks such as the Invasion of Sicily and Operation Overlord in Normandy, all of which are discussed in detail in Michaels autobiography, which is included in this group. Pearlie Hargrave was one of Ike’s drivers, and she and Michael fell in love and ultimately tied the knot in Belgium in December 1944. General Eisenhower was the one to walk her down the aisle and give her away. The grouping includes a named Bronze Star to Michael, a copy of Sergeant Mickey and General Ike, copious amounts of passes and vouchers for access to the Headquarters of Supreme Allied Command, original Army Signal Corps photographs of the couple’s wedding and correspondence. Also included is a kind photograph of then President Eisenhower with Michael, Pearlie and the First Lady. Bronze Star medal in its original case of issue, named to Michael J.
