Turkish WWI General Officers Parade Belt and Buckle

A superb and ornate Turkish General Officer’s parade belt from the First World War period. The belt is beautifully woven in gold bullion wire on a rich scarlet backing, creating an impressive and highly decorative appearance. The gilt buckle features the Turkish star and half-moon at its centre, framed within a detailed laurel leaf surround.

Both matching gilt keepers are present, along with the original single sword hanger and buckle. The belt also retains its sword steadying chain, still fitted to the main section. An exceptional and rarely encountered example of Ottoman officer dress accoutrements from the Great War.
