Russian WWII M40 Naval Helmet

A rare and desirable example in the Russian helmet series; this is a very good condition Soviet M40 helmet, repainted in battleship grey for naval use. Retaining approximately 80% of its original grey finish; traces of the original Russian green paint can still be seen beneath, with the interior bowl remaining in its factory-applied green.

The helmet features its full seven-tongued imitation leather liner; complete and undamaged, along with its web chinstrap and green-painted buckle. Faint original rubber ink stampings are still visible in the rear skirt; though the figures are no longer legible. Likely issued to personnel of the Black Sea Fleet; a nicely preserved typed label from the previous owner remains attached to the helmet.
