A good, large-size example of a Russian World War II combat helmet; this helmet shows clear signs of field use, with approximately 50% of its original green paint finish remaining. Faint traces of the iconic stencilled Red Star with hammer and sickle are still visible to the front, adding strong period character. Some rust bleed is present around the lower half of the shell, consistent with age and service exposure.
The interior retains faint remnants of the green paint, though overall rust bleed is visible. The original three-pad Rexene-type liner remains intact, complete with internal cushions and drawstring. The webbing chinstrap is present; one side is discoloured from rust staining, and the rivet near the strap post is broken, though still attached. Faint numbered markings can be seen to the inner rear of the shell. A solid and evocative combat-worn example of Soviet WWII headgear.
