This is a rare example of the French-designed Adrian helmet as issued to the Imperial Russian Army during the First World War. The shell is a large size and retains its specific Russian brown paint finish.

The front of the helmet is fitted with the Russian double-headed eagle badge. This badge is magnetic and is original to the helmet, which is a significant detail given the prevalence of modern reproductions of this specific insignia. The helmet retains its characteristic comb and the overall silhouette remains crisp and undamaged.

The interior is complete with its brown and black leather liner, featuring all tongues and the original drawstring. The helmet is also complete with its original leather chinstrap. Large-sized examples of the Russian-issue Adrian are increasingly difficult to locate, especially when found with original badges and internal components intact. This is a primary piece of Imperial Russian headgear from the Great War period.
