Prussian Red Eagle Order Cross 4th Class

This is an exceptionally fine silver version of the Prussian Order of the Red Eagle, 4th Class. As one of the most prestigious and recognisable awards of the Prussian state, this example exhibits the high-quality craftsmanship associated with the premier German jewellers of the period.

The central medallion features a beautifully detailed red enamel eagle set against a white background with green enamel highlights. The reverse of the medallion shows the royal cypher of King Frederick William. The lower arm of the silver cross is clearly stamped with the maker's mark W, identifying the piece as the work of the renowned firm Wilm of Berlin.

The order is in excellent condition and comes complete with its original silk ribbon. The enamel remains intact without chips or cracks, and the silver has acquired a light, attractive patina over time. This is a superior example of imperial German phaleristics, suitable for a refined collection of orders and medals.
