JAPANESE WWII SOLDIERS GOOD LUCK FLAG ON FLAG CLOTH

A very nice Meatball flag with red centre, measuring 70 x 70cm with two corners with hanging tassels. Many messages. The flags were traditionally given to Japanese soldiers and servicemen departing for military service during WWII from family members, friends or neighbours. The handwritten typically include wishes for safety, good fortune, bravery in battle and honour to the Emperor. Nice condition overall, some light storage staining.
