JAPANESE WWII SOLDIERS GOOD LUCK FLAG IN SILK

A very nice silk flag, slightly stained from dampness creating colour run, measuring 100 x 70cm. The good luck flags were traditionally given to Japanese soldiers and servicemen departing for military service during WWII by family members, friends or neighbours. The hand written notes were typically to send good wishes for safety, good fortune, bravery in battle and honour to the Emperor.
