A stunning condition Japanese WWII type 90 naval issued helmet. The helmet is complete with its canvas cover and its green issue net. The inner liner is all complete with all three leather pads and complete with their inner pads. The original drawstring is present. The correct length neck tapes. On lifting one of the pads a series of five kanji letters painted in white to the inside of the bowl on one side and on the opposite side two kanji letters with what appears to be a Latin number ‘17’. The embroidered naval anchor badge in oval form is attached to the cover. The white painted numbers ‘9585’ are painted to the upper inner dome of the helmet. This helmet was original owned by us, sold to a serious collector of Japanese items, after research discovered that this helmet was used by a section of the Japanese Navy on minesweepers. A fine addition to any helmet collection.
