JAPANESE WWII BODY ARMOUR VEST

We have been fortunate in obtaining three distinctly separate Japanese WWII body armour vests. This is the third vest. Standard Japanese material coloured, sleeveless vest with four individual open-top pockets; each pocket has a steel plate covered in fabric inserted into the pocket. Considerable rust bleed from the steel plates onto the outer covering of the plates themselves and only minor rust flooding through to the pockets. Evidence of kanji lettering to the top left hand outer pocket. Grey multi-stitched inner lining with all three chest ties intact. A machine-woven label to the upper back of this vest in a mixture of Japanese and English, reading ‘SPORTING GOODS MADE TRADE KURIMOTO GINZA TOKYO’, identifying this armour as a private purchase piece.
