JAPANESE WWII ASSAULT SHOVEL WITH COVER

An extremely rare piece of Japanese equipment from WWII is the assault shovel with its long wood haft. Surface rust to the upper part of the point of the shovel, with a small section of metal broken away. The wood haft is excellent. Complete with its even rarer webbing cover, the webbing is generally good; at the very point where the shovel head was rusty, it has pierced the webbing. All of the leather strapping is still intact, but care has to be taken with its handling.
