This is a pure silk Japanese flag measuring 36 x 24 inches, personally attributed to Colonel Eisuke Suzuki. Suzuki served as the Commanding Officer of the 135th Infantry Regiment of the Imperial Japanese Army. The regiment is historically noted for its involvement in the Pacific theatre, particularly during the battle of Saipan in July 1944.

The right-hand side of the flag features the name of the 135th Infantry. The silk material remains in excellent condition given its age, with only a slight area of staining present on the corners. The construction and the specific naming to a high-ranking officer and a notable regiment make this a significant historical artifact from the conflict in the Pacific.

This flag serves as a primary source item related to the defensive operations of the Imperial Japanese Army during the later stages of the war.
