This is an exceptionally well-preserved example of a belt and buckle set for an official of the Water Police (Wasserschutzpolizei). The set is notably consistent in its dating, with all components reflecting a 1940 production year.

The buckle is in mint condition, featuring a full gilded finish. The interior of the buckle is stamped with the maker's mark FLL and the date 1940. It remains attached to its original police-style leather tab, which bears a Ludenscheid manufacturer's mark and is also dated 1940. This level of finish is characteristic of the specialist equipment issued to water-based police units during the early war period.

The accompanying black leather belt is marked NK608 1940 Wein. It has been modified during its service life with the addition of two extra sets of punch holes to accommodate the wearer. The belt is fitted with the correct white aluminium clip for secure attachment to the gilded buckle. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a complete and matching set for a specific branch of the police service.
