GERMAN WWII WAFFEN SS VISOR CAP OFFICERS

A fabulous example of the rare Waffen SS officers' visor cap, non-size stamped, on test approximately size 56. The whole body of the cap has an excellent nap to the fine quality field grey green cloth. One moth nip on the rear overhang of the cap. Standard white Waffenfarbe, black velvet centre band. A matching set of what appear to be Deschler RZM1/52 SS eagle and skull. Standard officers' cap cords, both pebbled side buttons have subdued in colour. The interior is lined in a light gold satin, with a semi-octagonal centre celluloid panel, with the maker’s coat of arms on silver paper to the centre of the lozenge, the maker's brand being Helvetia. The light tan sweatband shows signs of wear and use, with one split in the leather. The foam cushion normally encountered in the forehead area is partially solidified and missing. On lifting the leather liner, all of the folds of the inner liner are in their original position, and no extra stitch holes can be seen securing the inner lining material. We mention this fact to help customers feel more secure in the fact that this is a totally original, untouched cap.
