German WWII Waffen SS Standartenjunker Mountain Troops Shoulder Boards

An excellent and well-preserved pair of shoulder boards for a Waffen SS Standartenjunker; featuring distinctive mountain green wool piping surrounding black centres. Each board is edged with silver lace, including a double row of lace at the base, highlighting the rank’s status. Both boards come complete with their original slip-on tabs, each retaining an attached button. These buttons have been secured by a previous collector using a few additional threads through the shank to hold the under tab in place—this modification can be easily removed if desired. The black centres are free from moth damage, and the field grey underlay remains intact.
