German WWII Waffen SS Panzer M43 Cap

An outstanding example of a size 56 Waffen SS Panzer M43 visor field cap. Constructed in the double-button style with Zeltbahn-type buttons, the cap is made from late-war substitute wool cloth, showing characteristic white speckling from the vegetable dye used during this period. Fitted with a one-piece Bevo woven SS eagle and skull, the cap displays excellent nap with no moth damage. The interior features two shades of lining, marked to the upper crown with ‘892/44’ and size 56, with a faint RB number above. A rare and highly desirable late-war Panzer cap.
