A finely preserved and visually striking example of a Waffen-SS officer’s visor cap, featuring the classic saddle-shaped profile in approximately size 58–59. Constructed in high-quality, finely ribbed field-grey canvas-like wool, the cap is piped in white Waffenfarbe and fitted with the regulation black velvet centre band, denoting Waffen-SS officer status.
The front displays a matching set of silvered SS insignia—an eagle and skull from two different wartime manufacturers, consistent in tone and age. The eagle is missing one rear pin, but both badges remain securely affixed. Standard silver pebbled side buttons and silver officer's wire chin cords are properly fitted. The exterior is clean and crisp, with no moth damage or staining visible.
Internally, the cap features a light grey leather sweatband showing moderate wear at the forehead, and a ribbed gold satin side lining. The crown is finished in a contrasting tan satin, housing a complete and undamaged transparent celluloid sweatshield. Underneath is the maker’s mark: Aug. Müller, Dachauerstrasse, confirming quality wartime production.
A solid and well-balanced Waffen-SS officer’s visor cap with excellent presence, strong maker attribution, and desirable materials—an ideal piece for display or high-level collection.
