A very scarce pre-printed A5 size citation; awarded to Police Oberst Borchert of SS Police Schützen Regiment 3, dated 19th May 1942. This example remains in excellent condition; non-folded and without punch holes. At the time of award, the 4th SS Police Division was still using Police rank titles prior to transitioning to the Waffen-SS rank structure.

The citation includes the facsimile signature of Generalfeldmarschall Keitel and carries the appropriate OKA unit stamp. In May 1944, the 4th SS Police Division was engaged in intense defensive combat west of the Tschudowo–Novgorod Road on the Northern sector of the Eastern Front, near Leningrad.

Accompanying the citation are four large-format photographs, likely taken by a Propaganda Company. The first shows Oberst Borchert seated outside a log-built headquarters; a visible sign reads "OBERST BORCHERT." A handwritten note on the reverse identifies the location as the Wolchow Kessel area in May 1942—likely the period during which the award was earned. The second image shows Borchert and his Adjutant studying a large map outside the same building; again, with an identifying note on the reverse.

The third photo depicts Borchert and two others in heavy winter coats loading a sledge, while the fourth shows Borchert seated at a table with two others—one playing an accordion, the other singing. A rare and complete citation grouping from a notable Waffen-SS formation.
