GERMAN WWII TROPICAL RARE Y STRAPS

A very rare set of the early green y straps in webbing is shown on page 38 of the excellent equipment book known as Ausrustung volume 1 by Roly Pickering. We have consulted the author, and the set we have is the only second set this author has ever seen. The strapping is slightly narrower than the standard later issued y straps; the angles of the attachment rings are different from the half-moon shaped D rings of standard infantry y straps. All the steel fittings are covered in surface rust. The steel D rings and the rectangular rings on the top of the y straps are rusty; one has had an effect on the webbing that it passes through the ring, but overall, the condition is excellent.
