GERMAN WWII TROPICAL PAINTED GAS MASK TIN

A very nicely camouflage gas mask tin in tropical paint, some losses as can be seen in our web images. The closing catch for the lid is missing. Faint traces of a name in white painted on the base, which looks like a rank of Hauptsturmfuhrer, which is an SS rank, we can only assume that this tin was camouflaged in the Balkans. Complete with its interior mask, which is stamped ‘FE37AB’, with a date of ‘1940’ and a rather obscured ink waffen amt stamp. Rubber to the mask good, all strapping present.
