Out of all the Luftwaffe flying suits, the two-piece summer weight unlined suit in salt and pepper material is among the hardest to find—and of the two components, the trousers are the rarest. This medium-sized pair has had both hip zips removed, with the openings re-stitched, and the additional two zips running down the hips toward the knees also removed. The front crotch zip is of the plastic type. Both front pockets retain their male/female closure system, and the exterior closure flap for the angled right hip flare pistol pocket remains intact, though the inner bellows have been removed.
Both lower leg nickel zips are present with runners intact, though the puller attachments are broken on each. Minor nicks and small repairs are visible, but there is no significant staining. A very good pair for display alongside an appropriate Luftwaffe flying jacket.
