GERMAN WWII STALHELM PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM

Photographs of the early Stahlhelm years are rare; they were one of the first right-wing groups that supported the new NSDAP. This album has a superb cover showing the outline of the German steel helmet with sun rays behind it, depicting a new world for Germany. The album contains 104 stunning photographs. On opening the album inside the front cover is a seated image, hatless, of the Crown Prince, signed and dated ‘1928’. The album follows with Stalhelm parades, excellent close-ups of uniforms, camp gatherings, marches, motorcycle outings, a huge amount of flags being carried, a multiplicity of the style of uniforms being worn by the Stalhelm. As the album progresses, the appearance of the swastika on the uniform appears, which is in line with the growth of the NSDAP. Terrific examples of Stalhelm members wearing the M.16/M.17 style helmet. Good close-ups of collar patches. A Hitler Youth member wearing full uniform.
