GERMAN WWII SS PAPERWORK GROUPING

An extensive grouping of papers, both pre-war, wartime and just post-war, relating to a musician, Matias Bichinger. On researching to the documents, it would appear that Bichinger was born in 1906 and became a musician. He was Volksdeutsche, indicated by his Republic of Czechoslovakia-issued passport in 1929. Documents include a 28th September 1943 letter from his Commanding Obersturmfuhrer, a field promotion from Unterscharfuhrer to Rottenfuhrer SS Unterscharfuhrer dated |October 43. The citation for the Iron Cross 2nd class within the hospital in Vienna with the facsimile signature of Heinrich Himmler to the A5-sized citation, folded once. The Wound Badge in silver whilst a member of SS Pz.Gren.Rgt.Div.T signed by the Chief Medical Officer. A field-printed citation for the Demjansk Shield whilst a member of Bridge Column SS-T-Pi.Battalion (SS Pioneer Totenkopf Battalion). Other SS documents, some dated March 1945. An Allied Expeditionary Force DP index card. A POW camp 373 document. A civilian internee paper in POW camp 373 dated May 1946, occupation as a musician. Allied Certificate of Discharge paper. His Czechoslovakian Volksdeutsche passport. Various passes relating to his musical career with the Luneburger Symphony Orchestra in 1953 and 1946, where he is annotated as a violinist. Various other post-war documents. Some of the pre-war documents in Czech. A very nicely executed small watercolour, which appears to be of his prisoner of war camp time, dated 4.5.46. A highly interesting group worthy of further research.
