A very fine and well-preserved example of the SS officer’s sword knot, issued for use with the standard SS officer’s dress sword during the Second World War. This piece retains its original black-and-silver wire construction, showing excellent finish to the bullion and no signs of oxidisation or damage.
The stem is tightly bound, and the acorn knot is firm with no fraying or loss to the weave. The black underlay is clean and unfaded, with stitching intact throughout. This sword knot remains supple and complete, showing only the slightest signs of handling wear consistent with careful storage over the decades.
An untouched and authentic accessory for any SS officer’s edged weapon, this knot would make an ideal finishing touch for a dress sword or as a standalone collector’s piece. Difficult to upgrade in this condition.
