German WWII SS Model 1936 Chained Officers Display Piece

A highly desirable and completely fresh-to-market example of the SS Model 1936 officer’s display piece, never before in a private collection. The surface retains its original cross-grain finish with only faint traces of wear from the internal scabbard fittings. The SS motto remains deeply etched and well defined, and the piece fits snugly within its scabbard.

The wooden hilt shows only light handling marks with no cracks or losses, featuring an undamaged SS enamel inset and a fine quality national eagle. The upper and lower mounts retain most of their plating, with some gentle thinning from age. The scabbard retains excellent finish to the face side, while the reverse shows light rust bleed through the original bluing. All six securing screws remain intact and unturned, and the lower ball section is perfectly formed.

The early first-pattern hanging chain displays mild rust spotting, complete with its functional spring catch and the standard intertwined SS markings on the second link. A scarce and outstanding original example of this sought-after period piece.
