GERMAN WWII SINGLE DECAL LUFTWAFFE PARATROOPER HELMET

A shell size ET66 early to mid-war period paratrooper helmet, having its three-hole spanner bolts all intact. Some slight losses to the paint finish, as can be seen by our web images. The Luftwaffe eagle is virtually complete, with some minor abrasions to the left-hand wing tip. To the interior, the leather liner and its rubber inner cushion are all complete. Stamped size 55 to the inner liner. ‘66’ shell size, with its ‘Carl Heisler, Berlin’ makers stamp towards the front end of the liner band. The helmet has lost its straps, apart from one short section still remaining, which appears to have been cut as if it had been removed from a dead paratrooper. Also tied to the interior of the liner is a good luck charm, placed there by the original wearer. The batch number of the helmet ‘4986’ in the reverse skirt.
