A superb and rare double Erel marked visor cap for a signals officer, produced in a massive size, likely 62. Constructed from high-quality field grey cloth with a standard dark green centre band. The cap is fitted with a matched set of bullion wire woven national eagle and cockade, along with standard officers’ cords and pebbled side buttons.
The interior features a gold lining with slight water staining to the upper inner side. The Erel trademark remains clear beneath the intact celluloid lozenge, with only minor silvering loss to the letters. The mid-tan leather sweatband is Erel silver marked and shows some light storage staining. A single tiny moth hole is present on the very lower inner edge where the sweatband is attached.
An excellent, large-size example of a rare officers’ visor cap.
