German WWII Signals Officer’s Double Erel Marked Visor Cap

An exceptional and extremely large-size officer’s visor cap—likely size 62—for a member of a Signals unit, produced by the prestigious maker Erel. Double Erel marked, this is a high-quality, field-grey cap constructed in fine officer’s cloth with a classic dark green centre band.

Fitted with a matched set of bullion wire national eagle and cockade, along with standard officer's silver cap cords secured by pebbled side buttons. The overall shape and proportions of the cap are excellent, making it a striking example for display.

The interior features a gold lining with minor water staining to the upper section. The maker’s logo is clearly visible beneath the centre celluloid lozenge (which remains intact), though the silver finish on the lettering has faded slightly with age. The tan leather sweatband is silver-embossed with the Erel marking and shows minor storage staining. There is one very small moth hole located at the lower inner edge where the sweatband meets the main body.

A superb, large-format officer’s visor cap by one of the most desirable wartime manufacturers—particularly scarce in Signals branch configuration and in this size.
