German WWII Schutzpolizei Visor Cap

A small size 55 Schutzpolizei visor cap in classic police green, featuring green piping to the crown and to the upper and lower sections of the brown center band. Fitted with the original police eagle, one pin appears to have broken and been contemporarily repaired. Minor wear includes two small moth nips to the crown.

The interior has seen considerable degradation, with some lining missing; however, the inner crown lining and the remains of the central celluloid lozenge are still visible. The stamp shows size ‘55’, along with a Berlin cap maker’s logo and a clear date of ‘1940’. Complete with its standard chinstrap.
