A well-preserved example of a German WWII Schutzpolizei officer’s shako, featuring standard green wool sides with one small moth nip to the rear and light moth tracking to the nap in that area. The black lacquered front and rear peaks and crown show some typical crazing but remain structurally sound.
Fitted with its correct chased aluminium officer's chin scales, an impressive large officer’s front plate, and a bullion wire cockade in black, silver, and red. This example also retains its original and hard-to-find white parade plume, completing the formal appearance.
The interior features a light tan leather sweatband, fully intact, along with a brown rayon liner.
A strong and complete example of a classic German police officer’s headpiece.
