An excellent and completely original example of the later-period RZM SA man’s display piece, sourced from a long-standing private collection originally acquired in the Channel Islands during the 1970s.

This fine piece features the original cross grain finish remaining, showing only minor spotting close to the letter ‘D’ in Deutschland. The etched motto Alles für Deutschland remains clear and crisp, with all the original grey patinated finish retained in the lower fields. The reverse is marked ‘RZM M7/49’, identifying the maker as Friedrich Herder of Solingen.

Both grip mounts display light spotting to the plating—typical of RZM-era items. The brown hardwood grip is in excellent condition, showing only very slight indentations, with no damage to the inset SA roundel and a well-detailed national eagle in high relief.

The item is fitted into its original scabbard, which retains virtually all of its original brown painted finish with only minor abrasions. The upper and lower scabbard fittings are bright, with all four screws intact and unturned. The ball tip at the base of the scabbard has a small, shallow indentation.

This piece is complete with its original leather hanger and sprung-loaded belt clip. The small retaining loop on the strap is no longer present—an age-related detail that does not detract from the overall quality.
