A complete and original Ernst Rohm dagger, the blade, unfortunately, has had some abuse. To the lower part of the blade, butting up to the lower grip mount, there is evidence of corrosion, partly obscuring the early Eickhorn trademark. Both blade edges have been slightly sharpened. The full Ernst Rohm inscription is complete to the centre of the blade. The ‘Ulles Fur Deutschland’ on the opposite side is good and clear. Both grip mounts good, the lower grip mount on the reverse side is group marked ‘HO’. It also has the benchmark number 1 commonly found on most, but not all, of the SA Rohm daggers; the benchmark numbers run from 1-9, one chip out of the grip on the reverse side, close to the upper grip mount. A slight chip to the SA inset enamel. Good quality national eagle. The scabbard is rather tired, having lost its anodised finish, both scabbard mounts dull, one indentation to the lower ball, a screw to the upper mount is also missing a dent in the reverse side of the throat.
