A well-worn and authentic SA kepi from the early Third Reich period, featuring the brown upper indicating issue to Gruppe Mittelrhein or Niedersachsen. This example shows light moth tracking around the top edge, and the internal steel stiffening band has rusted, causing staining around the full crown circumference—typical of stored kepis of this era.
Fitted with the correct M.29-style eagle, a plain gold front button, and standard brown SA chinstrap. The interior features an ersatz-type sweatband with some cracking from age and wear, and remnants of a gilt maker’s mark remain faintly visible on the upper inner crown. Retains good overall shape. Approximately size 57 or 58. A well-preserved example with clear service use, representing the early SA uniform style.
