German WWII RLB Officials Visor Cap

A superb example of a Luftschutz (RLB) officials visor cap, non–size stamped but testing approximately as a size 58. Constructed in the classic RLB-pattern grained blue-grey cloth and finished with distinctive purple piping to the crown as well as the upper and lower edges of the black centre band.

Fitted with the early-style M.29 Luftschutz eagle above the RLB eight-pointed star badge with swastika and ‘RLB’ script to the centre band. Complete with silver cap cords and matching silver side buttons. The exterior shows no moth damage and retains excellent overall form.

The interior features an ersatz leather sweatband, with the lining executed in russet brown brushed cotton. The celluloid centre lozenge is complete, showing some age cracking, and is impressed with the RLB emblem along with designation for Group 7–14, denoting internal rank classification within the organisation. The peak is firmly attached and all inner fittings are secure.

A very fine, clean example of an increasingly scarce civil–military organisation visor cap.
