German WWII RLB Banner

A rare Third Reich banner measuring 120 x 120 cm, crafted from standard red flag cloth with striking silver trimming on three sides. The centerpiece is a beautifully executed black cotton swastika with white edging, expertly laid onto an eight-pointed brocade starburst, which is then stitched directly onto the red flag base. This banner features the final pattern insignia of the RLB, introduced on 31st January 1939. A vivid colour photograph of this design appears on page 329 of Defending the Reich by David Littlejohn.

The banner shows minor moth damage in one corner. The two unit patches—typically white embroidered rectangles on a red field positioned in one upper corner on both sides—have been removed. Additionally, the original hanging ring tapes have been taken off, though the stitching remains where the rings were fixed.

A superb and rare display piece, ideal as a striking backdrop for any Third Reich collection and highly sought after by RLB enthusiasts.
