German WWII Railway Officials Visor Cap

A beautiful example, size 54 as indicated on the interior label. Features a striking red top, free of any moth damage, with a black velvet centre band accented by red piping to the upper and lower edges. Fitted with a gold national eagle and matching large metal railway cockade.

Complete with its blue and gold twisted cap cord and gold side buttons. The visor has a double-edged rim, and the light cream leather sweatband shows two minor splits in the forehead area. Brushed cotton lines the upper inner crown, and the centre celluloid lozenge is intact alongside the size label. An unidentified rubber ink mark, possibly a unit stamp, is present beneath the leather sweatband.
