A highly unusual ET68 M35 helmet, originally issued in army or Waffen-SS apple green with faint traces of the inner dome stamp still visible. At a later date, it was re-issued to a Police Combat Unit and refinished in M.40 field grey, with twin police decals applied over the original army or SS decals. The later grey finish remains strong, with only a small area of flaking near one front liner retaining head, and the decals are excellent with minor abrasions. The helmet retains its original 9-tongued liner in good condition, all tongues intact with minor wear, mounted on a standard aluminium band with square-edge buckles. The original chinstrap remains complete, though the very tip has broken away. The rear skirt bears the hand-painted name “Pauls.” Batch number 4145 clearly stamped to the shell.
