A highly unusual helmet, being an ET68 M35 shell, originally painted overall in army or SS apple green, complete with the faint traces of an inner dome stamp. The whole interior of the helmet is still in its apple green. The helmet has at some time been reissued to a Police Combat Unit. The helmet has been refinished in an M.40 period field grey and has had police twin decals placed over the original army or Waffen SS decals. Batch number for the shell is ‘4145’. The latter police colour is good overall, with a small patch visible on our web images flaking off close to one of the front liner retaining heads. Decals excellent with minor abrasions, a few little paint splashes to the rear of the skull and some scratches overall, but extremely good. To the interior, the 9-tongued liner is all intact, with some abrasions to two of the tongues, but both are complete; none of the tips has split, standard aluminium liner band has square-edge buckles. The original strap is all complete to the helmet with its aluminium buckle; the very tip of the original strap has broken away. Within the rear skirt, the name of ‘Pauls’ has been hand-painted in small font.
