From a collection originally acquired in the Channel Islands of Great Britain during the 1970s. This excellent condition piece features the double trademark of Alexander Koppel of Solingen on one side, with the ‘ACS’ over the Scales of Justice on the opposite side. The main component is in pristine condition but slightly loose on its tang.
There is good, deep detail to the eagle’s head, with stag grips and the police insignia clearly visible. On the reverse side of the cross guard are unit markings reading ‘S.AR.1.758.’
The scabbard is in excellent condition, with brown leather that remains strong, supple, and free from congealing. Both the upper and lower fittings retain a good finish, accompanied by the original leather frog. The upper scabbard mount bears the unit marking ‘S.KA.II.45.’
