A well-worn example of a WWII German Panzer officer’s visor cap in the desirable high saddle shape, constructed from light grey Melton wool. The crown exhibits minor moth nips and tracking, with three small nips to the rear overhang. It features the standard dark green center band with a clear, strong pink waffenfarbe indicating Panzer service.
Fitted with a matched set of bullion wire national eagle and cockade, as well as standard officer’s silver cap cords. The fibre visor interior shows considerable wear from use. The ersatz sweatband displays some minor surface cracking over the canvas base. Inside, the gold satin lining is intact apart from a 1cm x 1.5cm section missing from the center celluloid lozenge. A solid, service-used example.
