A well-used brown political visor cap with a good saddle shape. The crown shows slight snags to the material and minor nicks to the brown waffenfarbe. The political eagle exhibits some rubbing to the gilt on the upper wings, while the metallic cockade with swastika retains much better gilt preservation.
Fitted with standard gold cap cords and a brown velvet center band. The fibre peak shows slight chipping to the brown finish along the front edge. Inside, the mid-tan leather sweatband is intact. The orange cushion behind the front peak has solidified and broken away. There is no RZM ticket present, suggesting one was never fitted.
The inner lining features brushed cotton with a gold rayon upper crown. The center celluloid lozenge is undamaged and clearly marked with the retailer’s name, ‘Knipping of Göttingen’. A solid example of a WWII Ortsgruppe political visor cap.
