German WWII Ordnungspolizei Shako

A very fine example of a German WWII Ordnungspolizei shako in a large size 58. The green cloth-covered sides are in excellent condition, showing only light moth tracking to the nap with no material loss or piercing.

The black patent finish to the crown and both front and rear peaks remains bright and clean. The shako retains its matching leather strap with aluminium buckles.

Fitted with the correct large white-stamped aluminium police eagle and its original cockade, which is maker marked by Assmann. The 9-tongued leather liner is in a light tan shade, showing only minimal signs of wear and complete with its original leather drawstring. The liner is clearly size-stamped '58'.

A well-preserved and highly presentable example of a WWII-era German police shako.
