GERMAN WWII NAVAL OFFICERS DISPLAY PIECE WITH STRAPS

A very nice and clean naval officer's dagger by WKC. The double-sided standard pattern of etching on the blade is good and bright. The very tip of the blade is all complete but slightly bent. The dagger still has its red felt washer that sits between the shoulder of the blade and the cross guard. The white celluloid grip is totally undamaged, with all its grip wire. A nice, good amount of original gilding remains to all three major parts, the upper pommel, central cross guard and scabbard, with the edges of the cross guard being highlighted. The scabbard is totally undented, which is very unusual for a naval officer's dagger. The dagger is complete with its set of complete hanging straps, which are the aluminium variety. Each of the buckles is maker-marked with an ‘M’ within a lozenge. Complete with its small securing chain, all of the springs for the attachment to the dagger rings are fully operational.
