GERMAN WWII MG42 BIPOD

A good original WWII production bipod for the MG42 machine gun. Unissued condition. Waffenamt stamped on both sides of the upper attachment lug; unfortunately, the peg that fixes the bipod to the weapon is missing; this can be replaced by using a post-WWII Yugoslavian copy. The bipod itself retains all of its original blueing, there are two spring-loaded legs that are held together by modern tape. When the tape is removed, the residue can be removed from the steel by the use of white spirit.
