German WWII MG34/42 Web Carrying Bag

A rare example of one half of the twin carrying bag set designed for MG34/42 ammunition cans. Both bottom ends are constructed to remain open for ventilation and ease of access; however, one end shows a tear. The bag is complete with its original herringbone twill canvas closing strap and a long, robust shoulder strap with clip end.

This model is illustrated in Ausrüstung Volume 2, pages 166 to 176. Recently acquired from one of the United Kingdom’s finest collections of combat uniforms and equipment, encompassing Army tropical gear, Waffen-SS, Luftwaffe paratrooper items, and other related pieces. The collection was started by a then 15-year-old enthusiast who frequented our London shop in the early 1980s and developed it over four decades, culminating in the authorship of highly respected books on these subjects.

An outstanding and historically significant piece of German wartime field equipment.
