German WWII Meissen Terracotta Eagle

A highly impressive terracotta eagle, identical in design to the emblem used on the front of one of the SS publications. Measuring 28cm in height and 22cm from the eagle’s beak to the back of the neck, this striking piece displays a full complement of Meissen markings on the base, including the full name, crossed swords, and two sets of numbers.

The back of the neck also bears these Meissen marks, along with possible designer’s initials ‘PW’, confirming its manufacture during the Third Reich period. There is a small repair to the eagle’s beak, but otherwise the piece remains undamaged and in excellent condition.
