A fabulous example of a or 17 shell stamped ‘Q 66’. The remains of the original strap lugs can be seen, reused at the early part of the Third Reich period, painted in early apple green with just three minor chips to the paintwork. The Army decal is good and clear with slight chipping to the upper right-hand corner. The national tricolour is complete with one small chip to the red section. The liner retaining rivet heads have all their paint finish intact. The helmet is fitted with an M 40 liner having a zinc band, the leather itself in excellent supple condition, drawstring complete. The chinstrap is the early brown version with an aluminium buckle, which has lost its tip.
