GERMAN WWII M.38 LUFTWAFFE PARATROOPER HELMET

A nice condition Luftwaffe Fallschirmjäger or Paratrooper single decal helmet. The exterior shell has a nice finish overall; the eagle decal is missing the tip of the right-hand wing and the tip of the swastika lower section, with slight abrasions overall. The early three-hole spanner bolts match the finish of the rest of the shell. The inner skirt of the shell is number-stamped to the rear 4271. The leather liner has good, supple leather and is ink-stamped in the standard positions; however, the size is difficult to read, thus the estimated size is 56. The mid-war leather chin straps are complete; however appear period-repaired with one supplementary rivet in place, as shown in the images. All male and female press studs are present. This is a classic 'standard' single decal paratrooper helmet in used condition and a good helmet for the general helmet collector looking for an iconic example.
