German WWII Luftwaffe Winter Cap

A scarce large-size Luftwaffe winter cap, manufactured in Bulgaria as were all Luftwaffe winter uniforms and headgear. The white cotton outer retains good form with scattered staining and light abrasions, most noticeable around the Luftwaffe eagle and to the peak area. The interior is lined with thick pure white wool, providing excellent insulation against extreme cold.

To the inside is a red label bearing the stamped number 67—almost certainly not a size designation but a production or lot number, as the cap is an unusually large size. Despite the signs of field use, the cap remains in very sound condition and is an excellent representative example of Luftwaffe winter headgear.
